Founder

Dr. Arthur “Trey” McClung

President

Dr. Arthur J. McClung is the founder of McMade Innovations, LLC. Dr. McClung is well versed in controls techniques and algorithms, system identification techniques, modeling and simulation, and design of experiments (DOE) practices, as well as electronics, mechanical design, programming and prototype-to-product development (P2PD).

Prior to forming McMade Innovations, Arthur was a Senior Research Engineer at Materials Technologies Corporation (MTC), where he was involved in several active vibration control (AVC) projects for rotorcraft comfort and durability, and wrote proposals for a broad range of topics from space suit cooling to vehicle terrain identification. While at MTC (for only 16 months) he received funding for, and was Principal Investigator for a self-authored Phase I NASA SBIR, and also designed and built an in-house automated spray coating system.

Dr. McClung was a post doctoral associate at Yale University prior to joining MTC. Arthur was part of Prof. John Morrell's Human Machine Interface Laboratory (HMI Lab), where he helped to establish the newly formed HMI Lab and developed the Yale Inverted Pendulum Door Opening Robot (Y.I.P.D.O.R.) system. His research experience, academic coursework and professional work have prepared him with a broad knowledge base, which has been very useful on many robotic and mechatronic controls projects.
